Our Editorial Purpose
Gazettes.lk aims to make important Sri Lankan public information easier to discover and understand without obscuring the original source or changing the meaning of an official notice.
Source Priority
When reasonably available, we prefer primary or authoritative sources such as government departments, examination authorities, universities, official gazettes, official application portals and employer notices.
How We Prepare Posts
- Identify the subject and issuing organization.
- Present important dates and application information clearly.
- Link to the source or relevant official application page where available.
- Avoid presenting editorial summaries as if they were official notices.
- Preserve access to older posts where they remain useful as an archive.
Accuracy
We aim to check titles, dates, categories and important links before publication. Because official notices can later be amended, readers should verify time-sensitive requirements with the latest official source.
Headlines and Search Visibility
Headlines should accurately describe the underlying content. We do not intend to use misleading headlines, fabricated urgency or unrelated keywords merely to attract clicks.
Advertising and Editorial Separation
Advertisements should be visually distinguishable from editorial content. Advertisers do not receive the right to alter factual editorial coverage simply because they advertise on the site.
AI and Automated Tools
Automated tools may assist with formatting, organization or editorial workflows. Responsibility for what is published remains with Gazettes.lk, and important factual information should be checked against appropriate sources.
Corrections and Updates
Material errors should be corrected when identified and reasonably verified. See our Corrections Policy for the correction process.
