Main Duties
- Preparing estimates for building construction projects
- Supervising renovation and repair work
- Conducting measurements and levelling work
- Carrying out quantity surveying duties
- Assisting with building design work
- Supervising building maintenance and sanitation activities

Educational Qualifications
G.C.E. Advanced Level
Applicants must have passed three subjects in one sitting, including two subjects selected from:
- Pure Mathematics
- Applied Mathematics
- Combined Mathematics
- Physics
- Engineering Technology
- Science for Technology
G.C.E. Ordinary Level
Applicants must have passed six subjects in one sitting with credit passes in:
- Sinhala, Tamil or English Language
- Science
- Mathematics
- One other subject
Professional Qualifications
Applicants must possess one of the following professional qualifications:
- National Diploma in Technology in Civil Engineering awarded by the University of Moratuwa or Hardy Institute, Ampara.
- Diploma in Civil Engineering awarded by the National Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority.
- Diploma in Technology in Civil Engineering awarded by the Open University of Sri Lanka.
- Successful completion of Part I of the Civil Engineering Examination conducted by the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka.
Age Limit
Applicants must be between 18 and 30 years of age as of 3 August 2026.
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Maximum age: 30 years
- Eligible birth-date range: 3 August 1996 to 3 August 2008
Other Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka
- Must possess an excellent character
- Must be physically and mentally fit to perform the duties
- Must be prepared to serve in any part of Sri Lanka
- All qualifications must be completed by the application closing date

Intelligence and Aptitude Test
This multiple-choice question paper evaluates numerical ability, problem-solving skills, logical reasoning and general intelligence.
Technical Test
Part I: Multiple-choice questions covering environmental matters, scientific discoveries, scientific knowledge and international information.
Part II: Subject-related structured and semi-structured technical questions.
Examination Medium
The examination will be conducted in Sinhala, Tamil and English. Applicants must answer all question papers in the language selected in the online application. The selected language medium cannot be changed later.
